Albert Gerald Freund

Albert G. Freund, age 74, of Genoa City, WI, died Friday evening June 17, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.

Albert Gerald Freund was born on June 9, 1942 in McHenry, IL, the son of the late Alvin and Alma Schmitt Freund.  He lived in the Johnsburg/Spring Grove area until moving to Genoa City in 1964.  He graduated from Richmond High School.  On February 14, 1980 in Elkhorn, WI, Albert was united in marriage to Judith E. Bresee.

Albert worked as a truck driver and mill worker for the Consumer’s Coop in Genoa City for 43 years.  He was devoted to his Faith and a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Twin Lakes.  He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Teamsters Union Local #43.  His whole life revolved around farming.  He raised chickens and was an avid collector of miniature farm equipment.  He played 16 inch softball and enjoyed watching birds.  He loved the outdoors.

Albert is survived by:  His wife-Judith; 5 children-Tamra (Janelle Stemberger) Freund of Milwaukee, WI, Kathleen (Ken) Adams of Delavan, WI, Timothy (Peggy) Bulger of Cecil, WI, Linda (Dan) Harvey of Lake Geneva, WI and Jean (Larry) Olson of Dorchester, WI; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 2 on the way; 1 sister-Theresa (Harvey) May of McHenry, IL and 1 brother-Vincent (Suzy Senke) Freund of McHenry, IL.

The Freund Family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Haider and his staff and the special caretakers from Home Helpers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7:00PM Tuesday June 21, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 701 N. Lake Ave. Twin Lakes, WI.  Private interment will be on Wednesday at Hillside Cemetery in Genoa City.  The Freund Family will receive friends from 4:00PM until the time of Mass on Tuesday at the Church.  Memorial remembrances in Albert’s name may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 701 N.
