Barbara Lois (Barnett) Frisby

Barbara Lois Frisby, 69, of Twin Lakes, WI, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 after a heroic battle with lung cancer, while surrounded by her family at Hospice Alliance in Kenosha WI.   

She is preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Camden J. Frisby; parents Phyllis F. Barnett and James L. Barnett.

She is survived by her four children, Brian (Jennifer) Frisby of Genoa City, WI; Eric (Kris) Frisby of Lindenhurst, IL; Krista (Darin) Goldschmidt of Wausaukee, WI; and Samantha (Kevin) Johnson of Antioch, IL.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Charles (Mary) Barnett, Catherine Repp, William (Celeste) Barnett, Elizabeth Barnett, and Joanne (Keith) Rutkowski and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Barbara was born April 8, 1947 in Waukegan, IL. She graduated from Holy Child High School, Waukegan, IL in 1965.  After high school she became a successful business- woman in the freight forwarding industry for over 40 years.    

After Barbara retired, she discovered her true talent, sewing.  Give her a sewing machine, some fabric, thread, buttons or appliques and she would spend hours creating beautiful works of art.  She lovingly made clothes for her grandchildren, home décor such as pillows, window treatments, blankets and quilts for many friends and family members’ homes, and no doll went to a ball without necessary accessories like purses, hats, shoes or shawls to go with the fancy ballroom dress. 

Barbara’s favorite thing to do was spend time with her family and friends at the family cabin in Lake Delton, Wisconsin.  “Das Sommerhaus” was her source of comfort and brought great happiness and joyful memories both from her childhood and into adulthood.  She instilled those same feelings about the cabin for all of her children and grandchildren.      

Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

The visitation will be held at Haase-Lockwood Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI on January 4, 2017 from 5-7 pm. The Memorial Service will follow at 7 pm.
