Betty J. Dix, age 70, of Mauston, WI, died Sunday morning August 28, 2016 at the UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison, WI.
The former Betty Jean Memler was born on November 15, 1945 in Burlington, WI, the daughter of the late Floyd and Evelyn Vincent Memler. On April 10, 1965 at Wilmot United Methodist Church in Wilmot, WI, Betty was united in marriage to Bruce L. Dix. They lived in Burlington, WI until moving to Mauston, WI in 1993. Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed cross stitching, bird watching and loved flowers. She also enjoyed camping and fishing. She was a former member of the church choir at the United Methodist Church in Burlington.
Betty is survived by: Her husband Bruce; 2 daughters-Terri (Jeff) Somers of Oshkosh, WI and Kimberly (Philip) Diedrich of Twin Lakes, WI; 5 grandchildren-Nathaniel and Matthew Somers, Abby, Shannon and Kyle Diedrich; 1 sister-Mary Lou (James) Russell of Colo, Iowa.
Betty was preceded in death by a granddaughter-Elizabeth Somers and 1 brother-Ronald Memler.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00PM Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory, 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI. The Dix Family will receive friends from 1:00PM until the time of services at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the Gundersen Cancer Research, 1900 South Ave. La Crosse, WI 54601.
