Carleen G. Keller, age 81, a lifelong resident of Genoa City, WI, died Saturday morning February 6, 2016 at her home.
The former Carleen Gladys Bauman, was born in Genoa City, WI on January 15, 1935, the daughter of the late Carl Frederick and Ruth Mary Doyle Bauman. On September 1, 1976 in Elkhorn, WI, Carleen was united in marriage to Robert J. “Sam” Keller.
Carleen formerly worked at Georgianna’s Restaurant in Genoa City where she obtained the nickname, “George.” She also worked at Paiser Pickle Factory in Genoa City, Trostels in Lake Geneva, WI, Highland Home in Genoa City and her last job was a receptionist at Richmond Bank in Richmond, IL.
Carleen lead an active life belonging to the Our Place Group at the village hall, eating breakfast at the Depot in Richmond, taking pictures, going to the casino and doing scratch off lottery tickets. She especially enjoyed playing BINGO where I 22 was a special number to her and she rang a bell. Carleen spoiled her grandchildren and never forgot to send someone a birthday card.
Carleen is survived by: Her husband-Robert “Sam”; 1 daughter-Kathy (Mike) Laubinger of Genoa City, WI; 3 grandchildren-Thomas (Meredith) Laubinger, Teresa Laubinger and Eric Laubinger; 7 great grandchildren-Ashley, Caitlyn, Destiny, Eli, Mackenzie, Sophia and Arienette; 1 great great grandchild-Emma Rose; 1 sister-Valri Ruenz of Lake Geneva, WI; 4 brothers-Ed (Nancy) Bauman of Genoa City, WI, Gerald (Diane) Bauman of Lake Geneva, WI, Ronald (Nickey) Bauman of Powers Lake, WI and Ralph “Homer” (Liz) Bauman of Genoa City, WI; many nieces and nephews.
Carleen was preceded in death by her parents; 2 granddaughters-Leia Bondowski and Carleen Laubinger; 2 brothers-Carl F. Jr. and Frank Bauman and 2 sisters-June Krueger and Lorraine Osweiler.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00PM Thursday February 11, 2016 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory in Genoa City. Inurnment will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
