Charleen Evelyn Kazimier

Charleen E. Kazimier, age65, of Genoa City, WI passed away Monday September 18, 2017 at her home.

The former Charleen Evelyn Schmidt was born on August 21, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Cogell Schmidt.  On August 11, 1973 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Crystal Lake, IL, Charleen was united in marriage to David A. Kazimier.  They lived in Twin Lakes, WI from 1979 until moving to Genoa City in 1986.

Charleen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Milton College in Milton, WI and her Master’s Degree in Reading from Viterbo College in LaCrosse, WI.  She worked as a District Reading Specialist and Music Teacher for the Brookwood School District in Genoa City.

Charleen left an imprint in many children’s and people’s lives through her talent of music.  She enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, reading, cooking and the outdoors.  She especially enjoyed her children and her students.  She also collected statutes of ducks and lighthouses and anything dealing with the outdoors.

Charleen is survived by: her husband, David; 2 sons, Carl (Amy) of Genoa City and Kevin of Genoa City, WI; a granddaughter, Hannah; brother, Lon (Cathy) Schmidt of Crystal Lake, IL and a sister, Nancy (Jeff) Lutz of Crystal Lake, IL.

A gathering of relatives and friends will be held from 12:00PM until the time of Memorial service at 2:00PM on Saturday Sept. 23, 2017 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 485 West Woodstock St. Crystal Lake, IL.  Memorial remembrances may be made to Brookwood School Music Program or the Reading Program at 1020 Hunter’s Ridge Dr. Genoa City, WI 53128.  For online guestbook: haaselockwoodfhs.com.  The Haase-Lockwood & Assoc.
