David F. MacLean

David F. MacLean, 93, of MacLean Road Elkhorn, WI died Thursday June 29, 2017 at Lakeland Health Care Center Elkhorn, WI.  He was born on the family Farm on MacLean Road in the Town of Geneva on February 8, 1924, the son of the late Dan and Margaret (MacLennan) MacLean.  He graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1941 and was senior class president.  He was united in marriage to Jeanne E. Finley on June 25, 1949 in Elkhorn, WI.  David farmed in the Town of Geneva his entire life.  He was the winner of Bowman Dairy Company award for Outstanding Junior Holstein owner of 1942.  He hosted a state land conservation demonstration using land leveling equipment in 1956.  He was on the Como School Board and served as clerk from 1958 to 1961.  In 1976 he received the Elkhorn Kiwanis Club award for soil conservation.  He was a lifelong member of the Holstein Fresian Association of America and a member of the Walworth County Holstein Association, member of the Walworth County Consumers Co-op board of directors and served as president for 3 years.  Member of Board of Directors of the Burlington PMA Plant and as its Vice President helped to merge Burlington PMA into Associated Milk Producers of America (AMPI).  He served as President of the local district of AMPI.  He volunteered for Aurora Lakeland Medical Center for 15 years and for 12 years was a volunteer Lifeline installer.  David was a 72 year member of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #17, Past Master and Past High Priest of the Elkhorn Chapter 17 Royal Arch Masons.  He was a former member of the Madison Consistory and Zor Shrine.  David is survived by his wife of 68 years Jeanne, 3 children: Martha MacLean of Whittier, CA, Daniel MacLean of Elkhorn, WI and Sherley MacLean of Milwaukee, WI, Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his 3 sisters: Catherine Jeffers, Margaret MacLean and Flora Kneisler.  Masonic service followed by a Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Haase-Lockwood Funeral Homes and Crematory 730 N.
