Doris Rae Sopher

Elkhorn: Doris R. Sopher; 87 of Elkhorn, WI died Tuesday May 19, 2015 at Lakeland Health Care Center.  She was born May 28, 1927 in Elkhorn, WI the daughter of the late Raymond and Marjorie (Fuller) Fish.  Doris was united in marriage to LaVern G. Sopher at Como Community Church Lake Geneva on June 9, 1945.  LaVern died October 22, 1999.  Doris and her husband farmed in rural Brodhead, WI for over 25 years.  Doris was involved with 4-H and a member of the Ever-ready club, She loved being in the outdoors working on the farm and gardening.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who loved her.  Doris is survived by her seven children; Gerald (Kathi) Sopher of Lake Geneva, WI, Susan (Loren) Rosenthal of Santa Clara, CA, Dennis (Micki) Sopher of Lake Geneva, WI, Margie Wakefield of Wausau, WI, Marsha Krause of Sparta, WI, Diane (Craig) Jorgenson of South Wayne, IN and Bryce (Hendricka) Sopher of Seattle, WA.  Twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, six siblings; Betty Tueting of Elkhorn, WI, Esther Puhl of Delavan, WI, Mary (Walter) York of Lake Geneva, WI, Enid Carper of Palm Bay, FL, Roxanne Johnson of Norris, IL and Gail Knapp of Elkhorn, WI and by a host of other relatives and friends.  Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, LaVern, one daughter Deitra, two sisters and one brother.  Prayer service will be held 12:00 (Noon) Friday May 29, 2015 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI.  Visitation will be 10:30 A.M. until time of service.  Graveside service and burial will be at 3:00 P.M. at Greenwood Cemetery in Brodhead, WI.  On-line guestbook is at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
