Edward P. McKaig, 90, of Palmer Road Lake Geneva, WI died at his residence Sunday February 18, 2018. He was born February 26, 1927 on the family farm in the Town of Geneva. He was the son of the late Chester and Edna (Holden) McKaig. Ed graduated from Lake Geneva High School with the Class of 1945. He was united in marriage to Virgene B. Housley on September 15, 1945 in Lake Geneva, WI. Virgene died August 24, 1988. On February 26, 1989 he was united in marriage to Edith Hinish in Lake Geneva, WI. Edith died July 11, 2017. Ed drove semi truck for over 27 years first with O’Donell Trucking and then LCL Transit before retiring in 1984. Ed was a member of Como Community Church and served on the church board. He enjoyed mowing lawn and working in his yard, he was an avid bird watcher. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local # 579 and was voted Walworth County Citizen of the Year. Ed was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his children: Carol King of Madison, Daryl, Edward (Diane) McKaig and Priscilla Baerbock all of Lake Geneva, WI. Eight grandchildren plus seven step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren plus eighteen step-great grandchildren and by a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be 11:30 AM Friday February 23, 2018 at Como Community Church W3901 Palmer Road Lake Geneva, WI with Pastor Bob Kamps officiating. Visitation will be at church on Friday from 9:30 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in the Town of Delavan, WI.
