Herman A. Keisler, Jr.

Herman A. Keisler, age 80, of Elkhorn, WI and formerly of Twin Lakes, WI, died Friday morning January 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

Herman Armen Keisler was born on November 15, 1936, in Waukegan, IL, the son of the late Herman A. and Rose E. Miller Keisler.  On December 29, 1962 at Grace Lutheran Church in Richmond, IL, Herman was united in marriage to Betty J. Hamm.  They lived in the Town of Randall, WI for many years, then moved to Lake Geneva, WI for 10 years and for the past 5 years they have lived in Elkhorn.

Herman served as a PFC in the U.S. Army.  He worked for 65 years for Antioch Electric in Antioch, IL.  Herman was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva, WI.  He was a former member and Assistant Fire Chief of the Twin Lakes Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad from 1957 until 1984.  He was a founding member and organizer in 1984 of the Town of Randall Fire Dept. and served as their first Fire Chief.  Herman was an avid Packer fan, enjoyed deer hunting and enjoyed watching bald eagles.  He also enjoyed day trips, traveling and was known for his good sense of humor and one liner wise cracks.  He was always there for anyone.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Herman is survived by:  His wife, Betty; children, Linda (Larry) Halko of Genoa City, WI, Robert (Kathy) Keisler of Twin Lakes, WI, William (Michelle) Keisler of Genoa City, WI, Karen (Kevin) Huey of Twin Lakes, WI, Timothy Keisler of Twin Lakes, WI and Andrew Keisler of Twin Lakes, WI, son in law, Al Janiec of Powers Lake, WI; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Alta Smith of Genoa City, WI and a sister in law, Jeanette Keisler of Antioch, IL.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Schaeten; siblings, Laurene (Gordon) Volling, Leo (Helen Keisler, Elmer Keisler, Laurence (Lois) Keisler and Gladys (Roy) Aronson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory in Twin Lakes.  Interment will follow in Mound Prairie Cemetery.  The Keisler Family will receive friends from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday at the Haase-Lockwood and Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory.
