Joyce E. (Harris) Davidson

Joyce E. (Harris) Davidson, 83 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Tender Reflections in Elkhorn, WI.  She was born October 8, 1933 in Lyons, WI, the daughter of the late Merle and Mary Belle (Bodden) Harris. Joyce graduated Whitewater High School in May of 1951 and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Education Degree in June 1955.  She was married to Martin P. Davidson on June 14, 1958 at First United Methodist Church of Whitewater.  Martin proceeded in death on October 25, 2010.  They raised their family in Bristol and spent many enjoyable retirement years in Harrison Hills, WI, Arizona and Elkhorn.  Throughout the years of their marriage, they enjoyed many family camping trips and traveled as a couple through Europe and the United States.  Joyce taught for over 32 years, primarily at Salem Grade School.  She was an avid reader, cook and Green Bay Packers fan.  Joyce also enjoyed playing bridge.  She was member of the Elkhorn Garden Club, Ladies Auxiliary to the Elkhorn VFW, Elkhorn Area Women’s Club, and Eastern Star. 

Joyce is survived by her three loving sons, Steven (Helen) of Belleville, IL, Mark (Teri) of Alsip, IL, and Paul (Kris) of Brighton, WI, five grandchildren; Sarah, Kirsten, Ellie, Luke and Benjamin and sister, Marion Swett.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin, parents, brother and sister-in-law Gerald (Marion) Harris and brother-in-law, Lee Swett.

Visitation will be held 4:00PM to 6:00PM on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI.  Private family burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Whitewater, WI.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N Michigan Ave. Fl 17 Chicago, IL 60601.    Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
