Leo R. Baker, age 75, of Lake Geneva, WI, passed away Wednesday evening July 19, 2017 at the Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI.
Leo R. Baker was born on August 9, 1941 in Lake Geneva, WI, the son of the late Ralph and Leota Fish Baker. Leo has been a Lake Geneva resident his entire lifetime. He attended Lake Geneva High School from 1955-1958, Badger High School 1958-59, then Whitewater State College 1959-1963 and majored in Elementary Education. He went on to Winona State College for his Masters Degree. Leo taught in the Lake Geneva Joint School District, Central Elementary School from September 1, 1963 until June 30, 1973. He then became Principal from July 1, 1973 until retirement on June 30, 2003.
Leo enjoyed all sports but especially the Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks. He enjoyed dogs.
Leo is survived by: a brother, Richard Baker of Tampa, FL; sister in law, Linda Baker of Elkhorn, WI; nieces, Abigail and Rebecca; special friends and caregivers, Mike and Colleen Katzenberg and their family, Erin and Patrick Cannon, Michael and Maria Katzenberg and Ayden, Emerson and Lucy; and Leo’s dog, Ernie.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Kenneth Baker.
A gathering of friends will be held on Monday July 24, 2017 from 2:00PM until the time of Memorial Services at 4:00PM at the Central-Denison Elementary School, Leo R.
