Mary Ellen (Wuttke) Desing

Mary Ellen Desing, 90 of Elkhorn, WI, died Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Golden Years in Walworth, WI.  She was born October 8, 1926 in Elkhorn, the daughter of the late Emil and Ellen (Otto) Wuttke.  Mary Ellen married Harold J. Desing on June 11, 1949 in Elkhorn. They were married for 44 years before his death on February 11, 1994.   She worked as a bank teller at State Bank of Elkhorn for over 30 years. Mary Ellen was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Elkhorn and was very active in the Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed the Walworth County Homemakers and being a project leader with Lakeland 4-H.

Mary Ellen is survived by her three loving daughters; Carol Desing of Dallas, TX, Diane DeBaere of Lake Geneva, WI, Bonnie (Harold) Oldenburg Jr. of Burlington, WI, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, three brothers; Donald (Lorraine) Wuttke of Elkhorn, WI, James (Jean) Wuttke of Buffalo, WY and John (Dianne) Wuttke of Elkhorn, WI, two sisters-in-law; Betty Wuttke and Audrey Wuttke both of Elkhorn, WI, and dear long time friend, LaVerne “Bud” Schoenberg of Lyons, WI.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, two brothers; William and Robert Wuttke, and her son-in-law, Jimmie DeBaere.

Funeral service will be 11:30 AM on Monday, May 8, 2017 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 415 Devendorf St. Elkhorn, WI, with Pastor David Rau officiating.  Visitation will be 9:30 AM until service time Monday at Church.  Burial will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens Town of Delavan, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aurora at Home Hospice, 103 N Dodge St. Burlington, WI, or First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Elkhorn.
