Muriel Grace Shaw, 95, a lifelong resident of Elkhorn, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Vintage on the Ponds in Delavan, WI. She was born in the Town of Geneva, WI on December 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Lasch) Lannon. Muriel was united in marriage to Harry I. Shaw on February 14, 1946 in Elkhorn, WI. Harry preceded her in death on January 12, 2011 after 64 years of marriage. Muriel worked for Lowell Sweet as legal secretary for Sweet Law Office in Elkhorn, WI. She was a member at the First Congregational – United Church of Christ of Elkhorn. Muriel was active with the Sweet Adeline’s and sang in the church choir with her husband Harry for over 30 years.
Muriel is survived by her two children, Michael (Debra Lenzen) Shaw of Prescott, AZ and Gary (Roger White) Shaw of Brooklyn, WI, son-in-law, Alan Stangler of Sussex, WI, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Lori Stangler and her sister, Myrtle Barber.
Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday May 23, 2018 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI with Rev. Dr. Scott McLeod officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 PM until time of services. Inurnment will be at Hazel Ridge Cemetery Elkhorn, WI. Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
