Nicholas S. Kavouras, III, age 66 of Trevor, WI. passed away peacefully on April 6, 2018 in Kenosha, WI., after fighting a long battle with COPD. Nick was born on July 2, 1951 in Chicago, IL. The son of Nicholas S. and Eleanor (Kurgan) Kavouras II. On May 25, 1991 in Waukegan, IL he was united in marriage to Tamera Cockrum. He graduated from Grant High School in Fox Lake, IL. and continued to live in Lake County until 2003 when he and his wife moved to Trevor, WI. Nick was always an outgoing, social, and very active man who easily made new friends where ever he went. He enjoyed all sorts of hobbies, including playing his harmonica and shooting pool, scuba diving, snowmobiling, target shooting, flying stunt kites and his most cherished riding his beloved motorcycle.
Nick is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years Tamera (Cockrum) Kavouras of Trevor, WI. His Son Nicholas S. Kavouras, IV, of Kenosha, WI. and his daughter Kimberly (Dean) Koukal of Antioch, IL. Further survived by his three grandchildren: Nicholas S. Kavouras V, Madison Jane Koukal and Jack William Koukal and his brother Thomas (Vicki) Kavouras, his mother-in-law, Terry (Brian), brother in-law Jerry (Karleen) Cockrum, and sister-in-law Kimberly (Jeff) Stephens and many nephews and nieces and great-nieces who all hold a very special place in his heart.
Nick will always be remembered as a great family man and a loving father. Per Nick’s wishes, he will be cremated and will not have a funeral, but instead a celebration to celebrate his life will be held this summer.
The family would like to thank Dr. Elizabeth Soifer (Orchard Medical, Antioch) for her continue support over the years, Aurora Home Health for their amazing helping hands over the past sixteen months as well as the wonderful help we received from Aurora Hospital during his final days.
