Paul W. Yanke

Paul W. Yanke, 77 of Elkhorn, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. He was born September 3, 1939 in Berea, OH, the son of the late Wincel and Josephine (Chrostowski) Yanke.  Paul married Kathleen T. Masterson on June 17, 1961 in Park Ridge, IL.  He graduated from Northwestern where he went to college on a full ride scholarship.  Paul played in the Blue Gray All Star Game.  He worked at Elkhorn Area High School from 1969 to 1995 as a Physical Education Teacher.  During that time, Paul coached football, basketball, track and wrestling.  Paul enjoyed golfing and playing softball during his retirement in Florida.  He was loving grandpa who enjoyed spending time with his eleven grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kathleen, five children; Jay (Virginia) Yanke, Paula Davis, Patricia (Daniel) Subach, Jeff Yanke and Kerry (Craig) Greenwald, eleven grandchildren; William Subach, Tanner, Erin and Evan Davis, Tristen, Samuel, Benjamin and Savannah-Rose Yanke, and Aleah, Abigale and Emma Greenwald. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Rose Marie, Duane and Yvonne.

Memorial Mass will be held 10:00AM on Monday, June 26, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 107 W Walworth St, Elkhorn, WI.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children Hospitals, 262 Danny Thomas Pl Memphis, TN 38105, or The Tree House, W4063 Hwy NN Elkhorn, WI 53121.  Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
