Phyllis C. (Vogel) Burnette

Phyllis C. Burnette: 95 of Hazel Ridge Road Elkhorn, WI died peacefully surrounded by her family Wednesday July 20, 2016 at Lakeland Health Care Center Elkhorn, WI.  She was born December 17, 1920 in Solon Mills, IL the daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (Yanke) Vogel.  Phyllis served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from January 22, 1943 until February 17, 1945.  For over 15 years she worked in the history resource center at Delavan Darien High School retiring in 1997.  Phyllis was a member of St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church of Elkhorn, former Home Environment leader for the Elkhorn 4-H Club, she was very involved with the Drama and Music Fests and was a co-director of the Walworth County 4-H Reach Out Singers.  Phyllis was a devoted and loving mother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her daughter; Jan Burnette of Elkhorn, WI, brother; Alan (Dorothy) Vogel of Janesville, WI, sister; Jean Bourenske of Elkhorn, WI, sister-in-law; Beverly Vogel of Brodhead, WI, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and by a host of other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by siblings; George Vogel, Maxine (Dan) Lawrence, Robert Vogel, Earlene (Ray) Sengbush, Clinton Vogel and by several nieces and nephews.  Memorial service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday July 27, 2016 at St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church 13 S. Church Street Elkhorn, WI with Fr. Stephen Capitelli officiating.  Inurnment will be at Solon Mills Cedarvale Cemetery Solon Mills, IL.  Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 AM until time of Service.
