Virginia A (Kurth) Nelson

Virginia A. Nelson, age 91, of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin died July 29, 2016 at home surrounded by her family.   The daughter of the late Hans and Lillian (Streib) Kurth, she was born December 17, 1924 and spent her childhood in Forest Park, IL.   She married James A. Nelson on February 14, 1946, and they raised their family in Elmhurst, IL. She is preceded in death by James and her sister, Marie Grosshauser. 

Virginia is survived by her two children, John (Kathy) Nelson of Merritt Island, FL and Sandra Rienks of Twin Lakes, WI; four grandchildren: James (Larin) Nelson, Jennifer Gerry, Jason (Stephanie) Rienks, Matthew (Keni) Rienks; and six great-grandchildren: Cooper and Brooke Nelson, Matthew and Luke Gerry, and Eden and Evan Rienks; as well as two nephews, Terry (Bonnie) Grosshauser and Gary (Pam) Grosshauser.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 3, at 2PM at the Haase Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr, Twin Lakes, WI. Visitation starts at 1PM. As it would be Virginia’s joy to do so, family and friends are invited to gather at the family home following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkview Community Church, 764 St. Charles Road, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 – Manna Ministry or Grace Lutheran Church, 6000 Broadway St, Richmond, IL 60071 - PADS Ministry, to provide for those without food or shelter.
