Betty Lou Doebert

Elkhorn: Betty L. Doebert; 81, of Sedgemeadow Street Elkhorn died unexpectedly Saturday May 18, 2013 at her residence. She was born July 18, 1931 in Elkhorn the daughter of the late Louis Kenneth and Vernetta May (Schinke) Lauderdale. She graduated from Elkhorn High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. On May 19 1951 she was united in marriage to Martin John Robert Dobert in Elkhorn. Martin died October 6, 2007. Betty worked as a secretary for many years with Lutherdale Camp of Elkhorn and Elkhorn High School for over 20 years retiring in 1991. Betty was a member of Sugar Creek Lutheran Church of Elkhorn. She and Marty loved to travel and spend winters in Arizona; they were the campground supervisors for the Walworth County Fair Grounds Campsites for over 20 years. Betty was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother who truly enjoyed her family. She is survived by her 3 children: John (Debbie), Donna and Jean Doebert, 1 granddaughter Jennifer (Duane) Hadley and 1 great-grandson Nathan all of Elkhorn, WI. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Martin, 2 brothers and their wives: Leon (Linda) and Keith (Deanna) Lauderdale.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday May 22, 2013 at Sugar Creek Lutheran Church N5690 Cobblestone Road Elkhorn with Rev. Jane E. Rothman officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn and at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until time of service.
