Benjamin "Ben" Edward Zabler
October 27, 1921 - March 13, 2012

Elkhorn: Ben Zabler Jr.; 90 of Spring Prairie, WI died peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Ben was born October 27, 1921 in Burlington, WI. He was the son of the late Ben and Lillie (Warner) Zabler Sr. He was united in marriage to Lorene Anderson on April 1, 1940. She died March of 1973. On June 8, 1973 in Ripon, WI he married Shirley (Noe) Bauman. Ben worked as a brass polisher with Burlington Brass Works of Burlington, WI for over 38 years. Ben owned and operated the Patz dealership in Spring Prairie, WI for over 50 years he also was a salesman for Graetz Equipment. He served as President of the Cemetery Board for Hickory Grove Cemetery for many years. He was a member of Christian Life Church of Elkhorn. He had a strong faith and belief in God. He will always be remembered for his love of family and friends and his wonderful sense of humor. Ben is survived by his wife of 38 years, Shirley. 3 children: Jane (Howard) Malecki of Huntley, IL, Jeffrey (Cindy) Zabler of Stanley, WI and Judi (Paul Fernandez) Gettle of Belvidere, IL. 1 Daughter-in-law: Iliana "Lanie" Zabler of Virginia Beach, VA. 3 step-sons: Rodney (Tina) Bauman, Dennis Bauman both of Harvard, IL and Dale (Cindy) Bauman of Elkhorn, WI. 1 step-daughter: Diana Smiley of Edgerton, WI. 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Ben was preceded in death by his 1st wife: Lorene, 2 sons: Jerry and John. 2 brothers: Ronald and Eugene. 2 sisters: Helen Schinke and Carol Granger.
Funeral services will be 12:00 pm (Noon) Saturday March 17, 2012 at Christian Life Church 4521 County Road F North Elkhorn, WI with Pastor David Hawley officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of services. Burial will be 3:30 pm Saturday at Hickory Grove Cemetery in the Town of Spring Prairie.
