Alberta Allen Obituary

 

Alberta M. Allen, age 102. Of Burlington, WI, died Friday morning December 21, 2018 at the Bay of Burlington in Burlington, WI.

The former Alberta M. Lent was born on April 8, 1916 in Genoa Junction, WI, the daughter of the late Fred C. and Alice Kimball Lent.  On June 19, 1940, in Genoa City, WI, Alberta was united in marriage to Glen C. Allen.  He preceded her in death in 1974.

Alberta was baptized on July 22, 1917 in the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Genoa Junction.  She was a member there until moving to Burlington where she belonged to Plymouth Congregational Church and then Cross Lutheran Church.

Alberta formerly worked as a cook at Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn, Burlington High School, was the original cook at Mt. Carmel Care Center when it opened, Burlington Memorial Hospital and the St. Vincent Pallotti Center.  She was a member of the Burlington Senior Citizens, the Cross Senior Citizens, the Waterford-Rochester Senior Citizens and President of the Residence Club-Riverview Manor for 7 years.  She was also involved as a leader of the Bloomfield 4H.

Alberta is survived by:  Her children, Marion (George) Rivest of Racine, WI, Lynn (Terry) Allen of Lake Geneva, WI, Lucille (Larry) Nettesheim of Elkhorn, WI, Eva Magill of Lake Geneva, WI and Jerry (Nancy) Allen of Twin Lakes, WI; a brother in law, Rusty Nelson of Horicon, WI; 11 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

Alberta was preceded in death by 2 daughter’s, Emily Nelson and Vieanna Allen, grandchild, Joseph Nettesheim and a son in law, Robert.

A private Family service will be held at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory in Genoa City.
