Carla M. Flok, age 78 of Grayslake, IL (Wildwood), passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 22. 2018 at her daughters home in the Town of Randall, WI.

The former Carla Mae Turner was born on August 2, 1940 in Clovis, New Mexico, the daughter of the late Louie and Helen Howard Turner.  On April 28, 1961, Carla was united in marriage to Felix Flok, Sr.   They have lived in Grayslake for over 45 years.

Carla was a caregiver at heart always making time to help anyone who needed a hand or mothers touch.  She truly was a mother to all and never met a stranger.  She was a member of the United Protestant Church of Grayslake, IL.  Carla had a true Green Thumb, and nothing brought her more joy than working with her flowers and yard.  She adored her active time as a “Lady” with the Medina Rider Corp Shriners with her husband.

Carla held many professions in her life, but truly enjoyed her time as a nurse, caregiver for the elderly and her successful self-employed house cleaning business and teaching many the skills of her trades.  Carla’s laughter, easy going southern drawl will be missed by all and no one could ever forget her smile.

Carla is survived by: her husband, Felix; 3 children, John Buitenhuis of Montana, Felix (Kellie Jewel) Flok, Jr. of Wildwood, IL and Carlene (Matt) Karow of Burlington, WI; 5 grandchildren, Casey, Jessie, Brettney, Corbin and Darien; 1 sister, Rita Tarbet of Artesia, New Mexico.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM Saturday Sept. 29, 2018 at the United Protestant Church of Grayslake, IL, 54 S. Whitney St. Grayslake, IL.  A light luncheon will follow.  For online guestbook: haaselockwoodfhs.com.  Flowers are welcome or in lieu of flowers, Carla would adore a charitable donation to the Alzheimer’s Assoc of the Cancer Federation to help find a cure. The Haase-Lockwood & Assoc.
