Chad Edward Steen

Chad E. Steen; 45, of Elkhorn, WI died unexpectedly Monday August 27, 2018 at his residence.  He was born January 13, 1973 in Aurora IL the son of Mary D. Murphy and the late Hilbert E. Steen.  Chad attended St. Patrick’s grade school and graduated from Elkhorn Area High School with the Class of 1991, he then earned a degree from Kendall College of Culinary Arts.  In 2006, Chad opened Fiddlesticks Café which he owned and operated until 2017.  He worked many years at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, and was currently the Executive Chef at The Ridge in Lake Geneva.  Chad loved the great outdoors; he enjoyed hiking and kayaking, and being by the ocean.  Chad will be deeply missed by his loving family. 

He is survived by his mother Mary Steen of Elkhorn, WI, his life partner Beth Genske of Elkhorn, WI,  his four siblings, Mike (Sharon) Steen of Whitewater, WI, Laura (Damon) Loyd of Elkhorn, WI, Susan (Jeff) Olson of Elkhorn, WI and Jenny (Jeff) Kallay of Aurora, IL. Chad’s aunts and uncles: Marge Norris, John Steen and Melanie Steen, Mary and Jerry Werwie, and by ten nieces and nephews: Stephanie Schultz, Brooke McBain, Jake and Alex Steen, Tyler, Emma, Carter and Claire Olson, Ryan Pierce and Samantha Brower, and by his faithful dog Beau and a host of other relatives and friends.  Chad was preceded in death by his father Hib, his grandparents; John Murphy, Arthur and Jessie Steen.
