Eleanor Y. Peiffer

Eleanor Y. Peiffer, 91, of Westshire Farms, Delavan, WI died Friday August 16, 2019 at Mercy Health Walworth Hospital in Lake Geneva, WI.  She was born April 29, 1928 in Scranton, PA, the daughter of the late John C. and Eleanor (Clouse) Yaggi.  She was united in marriage to John Robert Peiffer on November 27, 1952 in Pocomoke City, MD. John preceded her in death in August 1978. Eleanor spent her professional career as a registered nurse, first in hospital pediatrics, then for over 20 years as a school nurse for the Lower Moreland School District in Pennsylvania. 

Eleanor was a member of the Briggs Road Evangelical Free Church of Elkhorn, WI, a former member of the Philadelphia Hiking Club, an active volunteer for the Hamlin Public Library, and for more than 50 years was part of the community of Lake Waynewood in Hamlin, PA.  Eleanor was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family: two children, Deborah (David) Nearpass of Terre Haute, IN and Rev. Robert (Rebecca) Peiffer of Elkhorn, WI; six grandchildren: Keely (Sam) Floyd, Michael Nearpass, Jennifer (William) Morton, Jillian (Aaron) Meredith, Benjamin Peiffer, and Brittaney (Peter) Gonzalez; and by ten great-grandchildren and her sister Joan (Bobby) Brown of Delaware, as well as by other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday August 23, 2019 at Briggs Road Evangelical Free Church, 4654 Briggs Road Elkhorn, WI.  Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.  An on-line guestbook is available at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
