Elizabeth C. “Betty” Anderson (nee Giffin), age 90, formerly of Escanaba, MI and East Troy, WI, passed peacefully on August 11, 2018 in Elkhorn, WI. Betty was born on February 3, 1928, in North Chicago, IL, to Arthur and Catharine (Milroy) Giffin.
She married Robert C. “Bob” Anderson on June 26, 1954, in North Chicago. Bob was in the US Navy and the couple lived in a number of locations while raising four children. They settled in East Troy until the mid-1980’s and then moved to Escanaba to enjoy retirement.
Betty enjoyed golfing, bowling, and sharing pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Lady Elks Club of Escanaba and the Escanaba Country Club, where she was well-known as one of the “lunch ladies” at golf outings.
Betty is survived by her husband, Bob; three children, Cathy (Mark) Schultz, Michael (Lynn) Anderson, and Margaret Bower; her sister, Catherine (Wayland) Barney; five grandchildren, Carley (Michael) Paul, Casey (Scott) Reis, Autumn (Robert) Reid, Amanda Schultz, and Arianna Schultz (Jay Martinez); and six great-grandchildren Taylor and Macie Paul, Delaney Reis, Ben, Jackson, and Peyton Reid.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her oldest child, Michele “Micky” Anderson; and siblings, Coletta Poirier, and Jack and Tom Giffin.
