I wish I could be there in the worst way, my son Ryan I know would appreciate it. I'm in Fla. helping my father clean up after Irma. Me and our family will so miss Eric and will remember him always . He was always so kind and happy when I saw him, and last time when the band played , told him I loved his swagger when playing the drums . Reminded me of Stevey Wonder. I was sad to hear about your son. I received some advice a few years back that got me through some tough times. It was: you don't have to be brave or strong. You don't have to feel anything in particular. You just have to get up each morning and try to put one foot in front of the other.
I hope your family is gentle with themselves as they grieve and find someone they can talk and cry with.

Chris, I have nothing to say to help you and everyone else who loved Eric feel any better. For a while you just go on breathing. After a while, you will be able to wake and move through each day. But it will hurt. I can't sugar coat it. Life is unfair. Your son left and no one knows why. I believe he just simply forgot. Just for a moment, he simple forgot how much he was loved and cherished by so many. He forgot that he was needed, that he made people laugh, that his gifts and talents were enjoyed by so many. He just simply forgot for one brief moment. You're hurting beyond comprehension. I can only hurt with you. I am so sorry you have to go through this...love, Diane

Hey buddy. Got a chance to pray for a while last night. I hope you heard my words! Remember that time I just picked up the Cruze and it was the first snow and I rammed my car super hard into the snow bank at the end of the driveway? You just laughed and laughed and then when I was trying to chase you in the house, you laughed even harder? That was just one of those moments where I couldn't get mad because it was you. I was remembering all those hilarious times we had. They will forever be cherished. I do have a surprise for you but it's gonna take a while to get out together. Thank you for hearing my prayers and talking, we will talk more.
God bless your mom, dad, and Andrew. They have a beautiful son and brother, a one of a kind who was there for me personally through the hardest parts of my life, in fact, it's how we met! You hugged me during my times and just let me cry and be near you. I've told you so many times how much that meant, and you continue to this day to affect me in with the warmest light a friend can give.
