Faith Yvonne Mate

Faith Y. Mate, age 73, of Burlington, WI, (Town of Wheatland) passed away Sunday evening, April 30, 2017 at Artisan Senior Living in Lake Geneva, WI.

The former Faith Yvonne LaPointe was born on March 8, 1944 in Racine, WI, the daughter of the late Leo and Evelyn Jahn LaPointe.  On April 14, 1973 in Racine, WI, Faith was united in marriage to Henry J. Mate.  They lived in Racine, WI, then Twin Lakes before moving to Wheatland 38 years ago.

Faith was a member of Saint John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Slades Corners.  She was employed at Interlake Steel in Racine for ten years, and in various positions at the Bank of Burlington, Honey Bear Farm in Powers Lake and lastly at the Fashion Bug store in Burlington.

She enjoyed golf, high performance cars and going to races at Road America.  She had fun hosting summer pool parties for family and friends at her home, and she loved decorating during the holidays.  In earlier years, she liked power-boating on the Chain O’Lakes with her husband and son.  Going places for drinks and dinner as well as vacationing in Wisconsin Dells were also interests of hers.

Faith is survived by:  Her husband, Henry; 1 son, Bradley of Beaver Dam, WI; 1 sister, Judy Niesen of Racine, WI and 1 brother, Richard LaPointe of Racine, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The Mate Family will receive friends from 4:00PM to 8:00PM Friday May 5, 2017 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory, 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI and at St. John’s Ev.
