Frances A. Boggs, 97 of Elkhorn, died Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. She was born July 16, 1922 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Gardner) Minter. Frances married Frank Clifford Boggs on March 10, 1943 in Chicago, IL. After 64 years of marriage, Frank preceded her in death on December 25, 2007. She never served in the military; however during WWII Frances worked in a factory making bomb fuses. Frances was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She volunteered at St. Patrick’s Catholic School from 1958-1966 as a lunch lady. Over the past 12 years, she crocheted many blankets for needy children at Lakeland Medical Center.
Frances is survived by her two children Deborah (Rod) Metcalf of Delavan and Frank (Colleen) Boggs of Elkhorn, three grandchildren; Tracy (Ken) Collins of Delavan, Lindsay (Jesse) Liss of Delavan and Frank (Jessica) Boggs of Mobile, AL and seven great-grandchildren; Collin, Troy, Ian, Harley, Katy, Jocelyn and Freya. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and six siblings; Raymond Minter, Helen Huttner, Frederick Minter, Margaret Kovarik, Thomas Minter and Dale Butler.
Private Service will take place at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Town of Delavan, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude’s Hospital for the Children, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
