Gregory R. Pytko, age 69, of Genoa City, WI, passed away Sunday morning June 25, 2017 at his home.
Gregory Richard Pytko was born on October 5, 1947 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Mitchell and Olga Kalita Pytko. On July 19, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV, Gregory was united in marriage to Jane Ann Erchull.
Gregory served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant from September 19, 1967 until discharge on September 18, 1969. He served in Vietnam and earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam service medal with 2 Bronze Stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device, Bronze Star Medal and the combat infantryman badge.
Gregory moved to Powers Lake in 1969. Gregory owned and operated the Powers Lake Painting and Home Repair Company. He formerly worked as a ramp attendant for United Airlines at O’Hare Airport and formerly owned and operated the Pyt Stop Bar in Powers Lake. He enjoyed fishing and boating on Powers Lake, building houses and hunting. He was a former member of the Powers Lake Sportsman’s Club and was a family man.
Gregory is survived by: His wife, Jane; 4 daughters, Celise (Wayne) Harris of Austin, TX, Michelle Pytko of Maui, HI, Cari (Jeff) Collum of Milwaukee, WI and Shari (Todd) Kuwik of Powers Lake, WI; Grandchildren, Mason, Ciera, Cody, Meranda, Cole, Cade, Bennett, Addison and Mya; 1 sister, Christine Cardinell of Denver, CO; many nieces and nephews and his canine family, Molly and Mazie.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Pytko.
