Harlen E. “Pete” Peterson, age 83, of Twin Lakes, WI, died Sunday evening, Oct. 21, 2018 at the Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI, surrounded by his family.
Harlen Elmer “Pete” Peterson was born on June 21, 1935 in Wilmot, WI, the son of the late Herbert and Vera Frank Peterson. On January 26, 1957 in St. John’s Catholic Church in Twin Lakes, WI, Harlen was united in marriage to Deanna Marie Winter. Harlen has been a lifelong resident of Western Kenosha County.
Harlen served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 3 from Nov. 8, 1954 until discharge on May 7, 1956. He studied plumbing in the service and continued as a plumbing assistant after serving in the military. He worked for Quaker Industries in Antioch, IL and then as a tool and die maker for Trostels in Lake Geneva. He also worked security at Wilmot Racetrack years ago.
Harlen attended St. John’s Catholic Church in Twin Lakes. He was a member of the Twin Lakes Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and deer hunting.
Harlen is survived by: His Wife, Deanna; 5 children, Doug (Kathy) Peterson of Paddock Lake, WI, Terese Ann (Tracy) Naber of Wonder Lake, IL, Mark Peterson of Manhattan, IL, Gregory (Susan) Peterson of Gahanna, Ohio and Denise (Tim) May of Elkhorn, WI; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and 1 brother, Richard (Patsy) Peterson of Genoa City, WI.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother, LeRoy Peterson.
The Peterson Family will receive friends from 9:00AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM on Thursday, Oct. Oct. 25, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 701 N. Lake Ave. Twin Lakes, WI. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Memorial remembrances may be made to the Twin Lakes Rescue Squad. 236 E. Main St. Twin Lakes, WI, 53181.
