Irvin Rozell Obituary

Irvin Walter Louis Rozell, age 79 , died peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home in Bassett, WI.

He was born on September 29, 1938 in Kenosha, wI, to Selma (Wellman) Rozell and Wallace Rozell.  The family moved to Twin Lakes where Irv attended local schools.

He worked at Rolling Wheels Roller Rink as a floor guard; Twin Lakes Bowling Alley as a pin setter; at Woodstock Die Casting; and Bake King in Lake Zurich, IL.  His entrepreneurial side also led him to found Rozell Metal Finishing, which finished bases of lava lamps in the 70’s, and to own and operate Irv’s Bait Shop in Twin Lakes later in life.

On January 22, 1982, he was united in marriage to Celeste Rosemary (Emrich-Winter) Rozell, who preceded him in death on January 7, 2004.  Celeste and Irvin were members of St. John’s Catholic Church in Twin Lakes.

Irvin was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was a Genoa City Baseball coach for many years, including for the 1973 Stars of Tomorrow Tournament Championship team.  He also enjoyed watching the turkey and deer at his home in Arkdale, WI after her retired to the north woods.

He is survived by his sons from a previous marriage to Joyce Rozell, Irvin (Julie) Rozell of Colorado Springs, CO, Brian (Carla Bonner) of Bassett, WI, Mike (Jill) Rozell of Burlington, WI; his grandchildren, Amy (Tony) Deets, Jesse Rozell, Jamie Rozell, Daniel Rozell, Rachael Rozell, Ryan Rozell and Michael Rozell; great grandchildren, Brayden Howell and Alexander Deets; brothers, Bill (Arline) Rozell and Dale (Anna) Rozell; sisters, Lou Velma (Richard Weidrich and Mardell Rozell and dozens of nieces and nephews.

He is further preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Craig Rozell and brothers, Jay Rozell, Allen Rozell, Wallace Rozell, Walter Rozell and Wayne Rozell.

The Rozell Family would like to especially thank Dr. Joel Carroll and the Hospice Alliance Nurses. Donations can be made in memorandum to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 29th at a time and place to be determined.  The Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes is serving the Rozell Family.
