John E. "Big Bird" Leisen

John E. "Big Bird" Leisen, age 68, of Twin Lakes, WI died suddenly Saturday evening July 9, 2016 in the Town of Randall, WI. John Eric Leisen was born on December 16, 1947 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late John and Shirley Jean (Swanson) Leisen. John graduated from Carl Schurz High School in Chicago.  He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant from Dec 27, 1966 until December 9, 1970. He served in Vietnam and earned the Good Conduct Medal, The National Defense Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He lived in Chicago, Lake Zurich, and Elgin before moving to Twin Lakes in 2003. John worked for over 30 years for United Airlines at Chicago O'Hare Airport. He enjoyed fixing anything and everything and was an old school biker. Above all, he loved his family and was a friend to everyone. John is survived by Linda Leisen and Maribeth Barrons; 2 sons- Jeff (Julie) Leisen of Cary IL; Brett (Candee) Leisen of Twin Lakes WI; 3 grandchildren- Jonathan, Samantha and Genevieve; 1 brother-David (Roberta) Leisen of Buffalo Grove, IL; 1 niece-Carrie (Matt) Jura; 1 nephew-Kevin (Lauren) Leisen; 4 great nieces and nephews-Max, Peyton, Riley and Leah; and his many dear friends.

Visitation for John E. Leisen will be from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturday July 16, 2016 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory at 620 Legion Drive, Twin Lakes, WI. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Judy Wang officiating. Please join us for the celebration of John’s life with his family and friends at Lily Lake Resort at 7910 328th Avenue, Burlington, WI.  Memorial remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
