John J. Maltby Jr., 93 of Burlington, formerly of Elkhorn, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at his home. He was born July 25, 1923 in Oak Park, IL, the son of the late John Sr. and Helen (Baker) Maltby. John was united in marriage to Ruth E. Nickelson on March 9, 1946 in Elmhurst, IL. He served in the United State Army during WWII. John was a general contractor and owner of Carp Construction.
John is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Ruth, three children; Ellen Sue Douglas of Canada, John (Linda) Maltby of Burlington, WI and Janis (Jerry) Henning of MN, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Sue Stormont.
Memorial service will be 11:00AM on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Roselawn Memory Gardens, 3045 State Rd 67, Lake Geneva, WI. Visitation will be 9:30AM until service time Tuesday at Roselawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to a charity of your choice.
