June Ellen Scherrer passed away on August 22,2021 at her residence. She was born on October 23, l956 to the late Vincent and Esther (Kerkman) Scherrer. June grew up in New Munster where she attended St. Alphonsus grade school and Salem Central High School.
In former years, after acquiring her degree, June enjoyed working as a medical transcriptionist. She also excelled in various positions of customer sales and service prior to her retiring.
June had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed going on cruises as well as a good game of blackjack. She had a deep appreciation for music and was self-taught on the organ and guitar. Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Aretha Franklin were a few of her favorite classic singers. June was also an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan but her passion in life were her pets. June felt a special bond and sensitivity to all animals and provided a high level of care and love to her adopted animals over the years.
June is survived by her siblings; Judy (Jack) David, Jim (Holly) Scherrer, Jeff Scherrer, Jan Scherrer (David Weatherly), and Jean Scherrer (Bert Anton) and sister in law, Mary Lynn Scherrer. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews and her special Godchild Christina Grandberry. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jack Scherrer and Jerry Scherrer, special friend, Donny Schwigel and her beloved dogs, Princess and Gracie.

The family would like to especially thank their brother Jeff for his countless hours of compassionate care of June. They would also like to offer a special thank you to their sister Jean for all the loving attention she gave to June.
