Marguerite J. “Marge” Klein, age 81 of Genoa City, WI (Powers Lake) passed away on Tuesday morning, Nov. 19, 2019 at her home.
The former Marguerite Joan Giunta was born on May 23, 1938 in Lyons, IL, the daughter of the late Marino and Alice Serio Giunta. On May 24, 1958 at St. Petronille Catholic Church in Glen Ellyn, IL, Marge was united in marriage to Edward H. Klein. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1994. They lived in Lombard, I before moving to Powers Lake in 1972.
Marge and Edward owned and operated Klein’s Harbor Lites Resort and then it became Uncle Ed’s on Powers Lake from 1961 until 2013. Marge was a member of the Wisconsin Restaurant Assoc. and the Wisconsin Tavern League. She enjoyed cooking and baking and while growing up, she helped her father making homemade horseradish in their basement in Glen Ellyn. She was also a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Twin Lakes.
Family was most important to Marge. She collected dolls and enjoyed sewing. She also loved to play cards and was the “Queen” of Bingo.
Marge is survived by: 3 children, Susan (James) Leedle of Lake Geneva, WI, Cynthia “Dee” (Paul) Schneider of Pell Lake, WI and Edward (Melissa) Klein of Lake Geneva, WI; 5 grandchildren, Jacob Leedle, Melissa Limon, Angela and Abigail Klein and Kenlyn Hunholz; 3 great grandchildren, Ramona, Beatrix and Alyssa; 1 sister, Joanne (Bill) Ferreri of Sun City West, AZ and a brother, Richard ((Marie) Junta of Fontana, CA .
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Carol Giunta and Marion Zickefoose.
The Klein Family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 6:00PM on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church, 701 N. Lake Ave. Twin Lakes, WI. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
