Marsha J. (Merriman) Dopke

Marsha J. Dopke, 81 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 27, 2018 at East Troy Manor.  She was born January 27, 1937 in Beloit, WI, the daughter to the late Col. Fayette and Beatrice (Schutze) Merriman.  Marsha was an army brat moving all around the United States and living in China during her childhood. Marsha married William B. Dopke on October 20, 1954 in Elgin, IL where they farmed together until they purchased their family farm in rural East Troy in 1966.  After 53 years of marriage, William preceded in death April 3, 2008.  Marsha enjoyed needlework, sewing and knitting. She also enjoyed tending to her garden.  Marsha was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-mother. 

Marsha will be deeply missed by her nine children: Audry Dopke, David Dopke, Paula (Michael) Wallace, Benjamin (Barb) Dopke, Patrick Dopke, Joel (Nancy) Dopke, Keith Dopke, Lawrence (Jennifer) Dopke and Russell Dopke, thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandson, her three siblings: Janet (Joseph) Wilson, Mary (Brad) Cowan and James Merriman, and special family friend, Gary Schneidwent.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral service will be 11AM on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory, 730 N Wisconsin St. Elkhorn with Pastor Timothy Prince officiating.  Visitation will be 9AM until service time Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at White Oak Cemetery.
