Mary (Bonta) Verri

Mary Verri, age 85 of Elkhorn, WI, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn, WI.  She was born November 29, 1931 in Sicily, Italy, the daughter of the late Vincent and Joanna (Gaziano) Bonta.  Mary was united in marriage to Sam J. Verri on July 1, 1950 in Chicago, IL.  Sam preceded her in death on February 26, 1996.  Mary was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn, WI and was very active in the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and baking. Mary was very well known for her cookies.

Mary is survived by her four children; Grace (Gene) Lininger of Lake Geneva, WI, Charles (Karin) Verri of Lodi, WI, Joanne (Dan) Brown of Bloomington, MN and Patricia (Dan) Stempinski of Waunakee, WI, six grandchildren; Jason (Jennifer) Lininger, Joshua (Cherie) Lininger, Andrea (Nick) Cavonis,  Tyler (Kate) Verri, Conner (Sara) Verri and Benjamin Stempinski, seven great-grandchildren; Eva, Enza, Kincade, Layne, Ella, Jack and Quinn, and one sister, Rosemary (James) Tanzi of Stoughton, MA.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 45 years, Sam.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM on Monday, November 20, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 107 W. Walworth St. Elkhorn, WI, with Fr. Oriol Regales officiating.  Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM Monday at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 730 N Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI.  Interment will follow services at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Elkhorn, WI.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
