Matthew F. Blondell: 92, of Elkhorn, WI died Friday, November 1, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 8, 1927 in Chicago, IL the son of the Late Matthew F. and Rose M. (Gums) Blondell. Matthew served in the US Army during WWII. On September 11, 1948 he was united in marriage to the former Patricia T. Sauer in Chicago, IL. Patricia died April 8, 2007. Matthew worked for over 30 years as a machinist for International Harvester retiring in 1980. He was a co-founder of the Pleasant Lake Snowmobile Club, member of the Pleasant Lake Association, served as steward for the UAW local #6. Matthew enjoyed playing on a dartball league, the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Matthew was a kind and gentle man who loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his four daughters: Linda (Peter) Beierle, Diane Robertson all of East Troy, WI, Judy (Phil) Walbrandt of Elkhorn and Carol Hladky of Connecticut. Five grandchildren: Jennifer (Kelly) Lehman, Lori (Cory) Wallman, Brian (Amy) Beierle, Eric Walbrandt and Josh Hladky, Four Great-grandchildren: Lindsey and Kyle Lehman, Vivien and Ty Wallman, and by two sisters: Alice Exley of MO and Joyce Gast of LA, and two brothers: Ed and Tom Blondell both of IL and by a host of other relatives and friends. Matthew was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Patricia, son-in-law: Neal Robertson, five sisters: June Johnson, Ann Nystrom, Patsy Duensing, Nancy Tegmeyer and Mary Johnson, and by one brother Norman Blondell. Memorial service with military rites will be held 12:00 PM (Noon) Saturday November 16, 2019 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI with Fr. Larry Chapman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service. Memorials may be made in Matthew’s name to: Matheson Memorial Library or WTMJ Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
