Michael Means Obituary

Michael L. Means, age 86, of Twin Lakes, WI, died on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

Michael was born on June 2, 1931 in Lorimor, Iowa, the son of the late Lewis and Mildred Loy Means.  On April 15, 1956 in Perry, Iowa, Michael was united in marriage to Donna D. Hunt.  Donna preceded him in death on May 29, 2015.  They lived in Dallas, TX before moving to Twin Lakes in 1972.

Michael graduated from Drake University with a degree in Business Administration.  He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Michael was a member of the Wilmot United Methodist Church, a former Board member of the SE WI Corvette Club, Kenosha County Chapter, the Twin Lakes American Legion Post #544 and the Wilmot Masonic Lodge #241 in Wilmot, WI.  He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Monday Night Golf League at Twin Lakes Country Club.  Michael was a collector of Corvettes and Corvette memorabilia. He was an avid military memorabilia collector.  Michael and Donna traveled the world and were fortunate enough to share these experiences with family and friends.  Michael was also passionate about hunting and collected prize trophies throughout North America.  He was always the life of the party and a gracious host.

Michael is survived by his son, David (Angel) Means of Burlington, VT; son in law, Terry (Anna) Hanrahan of Crystal Lake, IL; 2 grandchildren, Patrick and Jenny Hanrahan; a brother, Robert “Bob” (Jan) Means of Lorimor, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Hanrahan and a brother, Richard “Dick” Means and a sister in law, Bonnie Means.

The Means Family will receive friends from 4:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory, 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI where an American Legion Memorial Service will be held at 7:00PM.  A Masonic Service will be held at 10:30AM Saturday followed by a Funeral Service with Military Honors at the Funeral Home.  Memorial Remembrances may be made to the Aurora at Home Hospice, 103 N.
