Monte Thompson

Monte Thompson, 43; of Fallbrook, CA formerly of Elkhorn, WI died November 4, 2017 at Palomar Medical Center Escondido, CA with his mom and brothers by his side.  Monte was born August 6, 1974 in Elkhorn, WI the son of Monte Thompson Sr. and Jeannine Ludtke.  Monte grew up in Elkhorn and then moved around living in Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago and Fallbrook CA.  Monte worked in the hotel industry but his real passion was writing music, singing and playing guitar.  He was in many different bands throughout the years, most notably “Subside” a well-known band on the Milwaukee punk scene and “Subside Cali” in the San Diego area.  Monte is survived by his mom, Jeannine (Russ) Saari of Elkhorn, WI, his father, Monte (Janet LuCore) Thompson Sr. of Fallbrook, CA.  His brothers; Jeremiah (Margaret Romano) Thompson of Baraboo, WI, Josh (Sara) Thompson of Delavan, WI, Dustin (Sara Antoniewicz) Palenshus of Brooklyn, WI, Russell (Rachel Beles) Saari of Janesville, WI and Matthew Saari of Delavan, WI.  He is further survived by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Ludtke of Elkhorn, WI, paternal grandfather Peter Behrens of Lake Geneva, WI, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends including a special friend, Robin Pasteur of Chicago, IL.  Monte was preceded in death by his stepfather, Steven Palenshus; maternal grandfather, Willis Ludtke and paternal grandmother Anita Behrens.  A memorial gathering to celebrate Monte’s life will be held 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Saturday November 18, 2017 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N.
