Norman "Nubs" Leroy Brummel

Elkhorn: Norman “Nubs” L. Brummel, 85 of Elkhorn, WI died unexpectedly Friday August 7, 2015 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center Elkhorn, WI.  He was born January 12, 1930 in Aurora IL the son of the late Andrew and Helen (Kammes) Brummel.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He was united in marriage to Jean A. Sittler on January 29, 1956 in Wheaton, IL.  They moved and started farming outside of Elkhorn, WI in 1960.  He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Elkhorn, Knights of Columbus #3464. Elkhorn American Legion Post # 45, He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and the art of closing a deal at a farm auction.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean, Five children; Dale (Cheryl) Brummel of Burlington, WI, Sue (Rick) Boyle of Milwaukee, WI, Roger (Julie) Brummel of Lake Zurich, IL, Dr. Gary (Roberta) Brummel D.V.M. of Lebanon, PA and Sam (Jessica) Brummel of Darien, WI.  Eight grandchildren; T.J.(Kara), Savanna, Maximilian, Roman, Cyrus and Marcella Brummel, Samantha and Mitch Boyle.  Two brothers; Arthur (Rita) Brummel of Newark, IL and Irvin (Sandy) Brummel of Geneva, IL.  Four sisters; Mildred Wolsfeld of Yorkville, IL, Geraldine Klenda of Colorado, Pauline Muehlfelt of Aurora, IL and Janice (Sal) Ferreri of Arizona and by a host of other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by Two brothers; Jerry and Floyd Brummel, Three sisters; Dorothy White, Edith Stark and Mert White.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday August 13, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 107 W. Walworth Street Elkhorn, WI with Father Oriol Regales officiating.  Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday and 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N.
