Patricia (DeRome) Karow

Patrica E. Karow, age 89, of Burlington, WI died on January 18, 2020. She was born on July

15th, 1930 in Chicago. The daughter of the late Raphael DeRome and Elizabeth (Hageman)

DeRome. On April 15, 1950 she was united in marriage to Carl Karow Sr.. He preceded her in

death on November 12, 1998.

As a teenager she moved to the Twin Lakes area and had many great memories of spending

time on the lake. She attended and graduated from Wilmot High School. Together she and her

husband Carl started Powers Lake Construction in 1956, for which she was the bookkeeper

until her retirement. The most important things in Patrica’s life were her faith in God and her

family, especially her children and grandchildren, who will miss her deeply. Patrica was

hardworking, independent, and always putting others before herself. Through the years, her

days were always full, as she enjoyed reading, politics, sports, painting, stained glass, making

braided rugs, flower gardening, sewing, baking pies and finding treasures at the resale store.

There has always been a special place in her heart for her bowling team and the forty plus year

friendship they have shared. Most of her life was spent in Twin Lakes until moving to Burlington

to the Springbrook Village Apartments, where she loved living and the friendships that she

made there.

She was a loving mother to Carl Jr., the late Noel (Donna) Karow, Lisa Krismer (Michael), Mark (Linda) and Philip (Christine).

Grandmother to Jamie Karow (Jennifer), Aaron Karow (Jodi) and Dana Karow, Eric Krismer,

Andrew Krismer, Abbey Krismer (fiance Cody Elsbury), Skyler Karow, Dalton Karow, Karli

(Karow) Caporaletti (Kevin). Great grandmother of 5. Patrica was preceded in death by Brothers Ray (Patricia) DeRome, Larry (Toolie) DeRome, and Donald

DeRome, and Sisters Joan (Peter) Curi and Bernice Cline.

A Celebration of Patrica’s life will take place as an Open House at the Springbrook Village

Apartments Community Room, 1101 S. Pine St, Burlington, WI 53105 on February 1, 2020 from

1-5 pm. Online condolences at Haaselockwoodfhs.com. The Haase-Lockwood & Associates

Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes, WI is assisting the family.
