Patricia M. Smitz, age 80, of Burlington, WI (Town of Wheatland) died Saturday afternoon September 28, 2019 at the Aurora Medical Center-Burlington.
The former Patricia Marie Dicklin was born on April 10, 1939 in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Dahlman Dicklin. Patricia lived in Zanesville before moving to Twin Lakes, WI then to the Town of Wheatland where she lived for 50 years.
On May 2, 1959 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Twin Lakes, WI, Patricia was united in marriage to Donald Smitz. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2010.
Patricia was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in New Munster, WI, where she played the organ for many years. She also taught music at St. Alphonsus School. She formerly worked as receptionist for the Twin Lakes Clinic, worked as a floral designer for the Piggly Wiggly Store in Burlington, WI. She also made bridal dresses.
Patricia is survived by: 3 children, Kathy Smitz of Phoenix, AZ, John (Alicia) of Franklin, WI and Bill (Debra) of Burlington, WI; 6 grandchildren, Anja, Rachel, Jacob, David, Ashley and Megan; 4 great grandchildren, Declan, Landon, Kiernan and Lilja; 3 sisters, Mary Ann (Larry) Oberhoffer of So. Carolina, Judy Gwizdala of Rockford, IL, Ruth Huff of Washington, DC and 2 brothers, Thomas (Giesle) Dicklin of Illinois and John (Christine Altman) Dicklin of Carmel, Indiana.
The Smitz Family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, Oct.2, 2019 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30AM Thursday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 6301 344th Ave. New Munster, WI. Interment will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Memorial Remembrances may be made to the Twin Lakes Rescue Squad, 236 E. Main St. Twin Lakes, WI 53181.
