Penny Peterson Obituary

Penny K. Peterson,  age 60 of Salem Lakes, WI (Silver Lake) passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 after an almost 41/2 year battle with a glioblastoma brain tumor, my wife of almost 38 years and best friend of 45 years, has gone to be with her Lord whom she loved with all her heart.

On July 8, 1957, Virgil and Vivian (Pelot) Quinnell of Wisconsin Rapids, WI were blessed by the birth of their daughter, Penny Kay.  Penny grew up in the Township of Sigel and attended school in Vesper, WI and Wisconsin Rapids and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975.

Penny met Clarence W. Peterson while working at Camp Fairwood and dated long distance for more than seven years before we were married on August 9, 1980 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI at Calvary Baptist Church.  Our marriage was truly blessed by God and our marriage verse is Psalms 34:3, “O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together.”

Although she did not like being the center of attention, she was passionate about serving the Lord and often played a supporting role in numerous ways including playing piano at church, teaching Sunday School, working in AWANA and ministering with young people at church, at various camps, and in her everyday life.

Second only to her faith was her love for our family.  She was the love of my life and my best friend and the mother of our three sons, Eric Robert, Douglas Wesley and Seth Allen.  She delighted in being a godly wife and mother which included being a stay at home mom and homeschooling the boys.  She shared our love of music, travel and camping with our boys and always stressed the importance of a relationship with God and family.  She was ecstatic to finally welcome two godly daughters (in-law) Aubrey (Doug) and Deanna (Seth), into the family and was over joyed to become a grandma to Virgil and Canaan and had just found out she was to be a grandma again in September.

She has had an incredible support system and was thankful for the hundreds of cards and visits she received from friends, relatives, brothers and sisters in Christ.  We were also thankful for the thousands of prayers on her behalf.  Although our prayers for healing for Penny were with the hope they would be answered giving her more time here on earth, we were comforted in knowing she is in the presence of our Lord and savior and has a new cancer free body in heaven.

She is further survived by her mother, Vivian, her brother, Douglas (Penny Jo) and sisters Peggy (David) Heise and Pat (Rob) Perkovich, brothers in law Ben (Diane) Peterson, Howard (Sherri) Peterson and Bill Tuttamore and numerous nieces and nephews.  She will be reunited in heaven with her father, Virgil, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Herlene and Chester Peterson, sister-in-law Lois Tuttamore, her grandparents, Roy and Agnes Quinnell and Carl and Florence Pelot and other relatives who have gone before her.

Today she is glorifying the Lord in heaven in ways we will never imagine, and for those of us who have accepted Him as their personal savior, we can rest in the certainty that we have a home with Him for ever more.

We thank God for the time we had together here on earth and in for his promise that one day we will be reunited in Heaven.
