Rev. Daniel F. Calkins

Rev. Daniel F. Calkins, age 63, of Genoa City, WI and formerly of Janesville, WI, passed away Monday evening July 17, 2017 at his residence in the care of Roberta, Pat and Robert Lyon.

Daniel Francis Calkins was born on October 10, 1953 in Oak Park, IL, the son of the late Thomas A. and Audrey M. Nolan Calkins, SR.  Daniel attended grade school in Chicago.  He moved to Twin Lakes at the age of 13.  He graduated from Wilmot High School in the Class of 1971.  He graduated from Gateway College with an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He went on to obtain a Ministry Degree in 2009.  He also was a Medium Clairvoyant.

Daniel lived in Chicago, IL, Twin Lakes, WI and Janesville, WI before moving in with family in Genoa City (Randall Township).  He worked for many years for the Bricklayers Union Local #20 in Des Plaines, IL. 

He was a member of the Bricklayers and Stone Masons Union Local #20.  He was a charter member of the Twin Lakes Yacht Club.  He made jewelry and sold them at craft fairs.  He really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his large family.

Daniel is survived by:  1 son, Jeremiah Calkins of Las Vegas, NV; stepdaughter, Traci (Guillermo) Mata of AZ; 3 grandsons; Siblings: Mary (Jim) Koch of Wheatland, WI, Patsy (Bob) Nelson of Twin Lakes, WI, Thomas A. (Barb) Calkins, Jr. of Twin Lakes, WI, Eileen Layton of Twin Lakes, WI, Theresa Calkins of Twin Lakes, WI, Tim Calkins of Union Grove, WI, John (Diana) Calkins of Burlington, WI, Phil Calkins of Lyons, WI, Cathy (Brad) Sanderson of Burlington, WI, Margie Calkins of Lake Geneva, WI, Brian (Tina) Calkins of Lake Como, WI, Bridget (Bob) Blackwood of Pleasant Prairie, WI and Roberta (Pat) Lyon of Genoa City, WI.

Daniel was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife Laura Knackstedt, 1 son, Ryan Calkins and 2 brothers, Paul and Michael Calkins.

In keeping with Daniels’s wishes, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday August 20, 2017 from 12:00PM until the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00PM at the Kenosha/Silver Lake County Park, 27000 85th St. Salem, WI. 53168.  Following the Celebration of Life service, food and drinks will be served.  Memorial remembrances may be made to the Calkins Family, %Haase-Lockwood & Assoc.
