Robert "Bob" E. Amann

Robert (Bob) Earl Amann, 79 of Burlington, WI, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 after a courageous battle against cancer.  Bob grew up in East Troy on the family farm.  He met Rosie while washing windows at Murphy’s in Burlington.  On September 16, 1961 they were united in marriage.  Bob built their home outside of Burlington where they made memories for 55 years.  Bob worked construction throughout his life.  Building houses throughout Southeast Wisconsin, selling Bostitch products, and later working with home contractors bidding homes.  Woodworking came easy to him, making beautiful pieces for his wife and children.  In his early years Bob enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, fishing, and dartball.  A member of the bowling hall of fame, holding the 1st sanctioned 300 game in Burlington.  Bob and Rosie took up golf, spending many hours on golf courses together or with good friends.  He was so proud one Tuesday night to sink a hole in one.  To help his game he mowed greens at Alpine Valley!  Wednesday was his guy’s day which included golf, lunch, and cards.  During retirement Bob and Rosie took many trips. Golf clubs packed unless they were off on a bigger adventure. He gave to the community working with St. Joseph’s Parish and volunteering as a Burlington Memorial Hospital greeter. 

Bob was a loving husband to Rosemary, father to Randy (Lynn) Amann, Diane (Tony) Fincutter, Joan (Jeff) Block.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Melissa (Jesse) Boyd, Patrick Fincutter, Mallory (Lukas) Poggensee, Steven Fincutter, Wesley (Stacy) Block, great-grandsons Reed and Landon Boyd, Sister & brother in-laws Sandy Walter, Lyle & Karen Walter, Margie Babcock, Ron Sax, many close nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by Earl & Mary Amann (parents), Delores Koenen (sister), Robert Koenen (brother-in-law), Clem & Clista Walter (in-laws) Don Walter (brother-in-law), and Rick Walter (nephew).

Funeral Mass will be 10:00AM on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1540 Mill St. Lyons, WI, with Fr. Jim Volkert officiating.  Visitation will be 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 730 N Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI.
