Ruth Phyllis Kloppstein

February 14, 1933 – November 19, 2017

Ruthie Kloppstein, 84, passed away at her home on Williams Road early on Sunday morning, November 19, 2017.   She was surrounded by loved ones as she left this world to join the love of her life, Ernie, who passed away in 2015.

Ruth grew up and lived in the Genoa City community; volunteering as a Den Mother in Cub Scouts, serving as a room mother at Brookwood Elementary and supporting her children and grandchildren's activities and sports.  She helped Ernie run the family farm with everything from baling hay and milking cows to selling vegetables all while raising six children.

She worked for the Genoa City Post Office delivering mail on rural routes for over 20 years.  She was an active member of the Genoa City Garden Club and a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva attending services with Ernie, her children and grandchildren for over 50 years.

Ruth was an attentive listener and took great joy in the simpler side of life.  The familiar twinkle in her eye foretold a wisdom and sense of adventure she relished sharing with her dearest friends and family members.   Her sweet smile and demeanor filled all around her with joy and calmness.

Her life was not absent of adversity; yet, the love she shared with family, friends and members of her faith never wavered.   She delighted in each new life that entered her world and cherished the hugs and kisses that soon followed.   She loved traveling with Ernie, whom she married on March 21st, 1953, visiting friends and family across the country and occasioning a favorite casino along the way.

She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Brandes, her father Walter Brandes and her brothers, James, Kenneth and Donald as well as her sister, Carol Cooper.  She also lost her son Robert last year.

She will be missed by her family: her son, Jay Kloppstein; her daughters, Terry Caruso and husband Michael Caruso, June Glennon and husband John Glennon, Kristine Colbert and Kari Nikolish and husband Brandon Nikolish; her 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and 1/2 brothers, Norm (June) Brandes and John Brandes.

A Memorial gathering will be held from 1:00PM until the time of Memorial Services at 2:00PM, Saturday December 16, 2017 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 700 N. Bloomfield Road, Lake Geneva, WI.  Memorial Remembrances in Ruthie’s name may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 700 N.
