Susan Marion Marklund, age 72, of Twin Lakes, WI, passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 at her home.
The former Susan Marion Valach was born on January 9, 1945 in Chicago, IL to the late Charles and Marion Husak Valach. On November 23, 1985 in Phelps, WI, Susan was united in marriage to Paul Robert Marklund. Paul preceded her in death on February 21, 2008. They lived in Fox Lake, IL before moving to Twin Lakes in 1990.
Susan formerly worked as a physical therapist Assistant for the Veteran’s Hospital in North Chicago, IL. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Twin Lakes. She sang in the church choir and was active in the Women of Hope. She enjoyed reading.
Susan is survived by: her daughter, Lisa (John) Bilik of Spring Grove, IL and a son, Frank “Jay” Scortino of Franklin, WI; 5 grandchildren, Luke, Grace, Anne, Anthony and Aydan.
Susan was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Irwin H. Fradin on September 5, 2017.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4:30PM until 7:30PM with a service of remembrance at 5:30PM on Tuesday Nov. 21, 2017 at Hope Lutheran Church, 876 Lance Dr. Twin Lakes, WI with Pastor Timothy J. Oswald officiating. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Remembrances may be made to Hope Lutheran Church in Susan's name where she was a very active member The Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes is serving the Marklund Family.
