Aimee M. Kohn, born on January 18, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois, left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. On February 14, 2026, she departed from our world, leaving behind many who benefited from her compassion, love, and dedication to family. Aimee was strongly guided by her Catholic faith, and prayed the rosary daily. She was looking forward to being reunited with our mother and father and welcomed into our Lord’s arms.
As a devoted Teachers Aide for special needs children at numerous schools, Aimee embodied the spirit of nurturing and understanding. Her career was more than a job; it was a passion that reflected her profound commitment to helping others. Through her work, she provided support and encouragement to countless young children with special needs, thereby demonstrating her patience and love for each and every child.
Aimee's interests extended far beyond the classroom. She found joy in her Diamond Art always trying to fulfill her sisters grandchildren’s latest desires! And boy did she succeed with princesses, turtles, flowers, all things Disney, and scenic pics for every season. Once working was no longer an option for her , her plants, including succulents thrived in her need to continue nurturing. Her favorite pups were Hope and Eden, and she cherished her time with them while visiting her eldest son Tony an his wife Kim. Family was paramount in Aimee's life, and she reveled in the quality time spent with her loved ones at Silver Lake, a lifelong place from her family’s childhood.
She is survived by her devoted sons, Antonio (Kimberlie) Bellissimo, Brandon (Ester) Bellissimo, and Vincent Bellissimo, who will carry her spirit of kindness and family above all else. Aimee is also mourned by her siblings: Lawrence (Corrine) Kohn, Jeroma (Douglas) Vicino, Joseph (Felicia) Kohn,, Martha (Karl) Hipchen, Elizabeth (John) Nikchevich, Peter (Janice) Kohn, and Teresa (Mike) Lindberg. Aimee also took immense pride in being like a grandmother to her sister Teresa’s granddaughter Charlotte Mitchell. In addition, she was profoundly loved by her nieces and nephews who would find her playing in the water with the littles, or spending time on the pier eating, laughing, and maybe even enjoying a cocktail with all our lake lovers!
Aimee's cherished memories are steeped in the love of her parents, Jerome R. Kohn and Barbara (Bolton) Kohn. Their home at Silver Lake will continue to be a beacon for our families.
