IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anne J.
(Taddeo) Jaske
September 13, 1931 – March 5, 2022
Anne J. Jaske, former owner of the Sandwich Hut in Elkhorn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the age of 90 surrounded by her family. Born in Chicago in 1931, to Antonetta (Marotta) and Peter Taddeo she attended Wright Junior College and studied Vogue Fashion. She married Edward Jaske on June 14, 1952 and together they raised five children Edward (Patti) Jaske, Michael (Terri) Jaske, Steven (Lisa) Jaske, Mary (Steven) Censky and Peter (Tiffany) Jaske.
Anne was a wonderful cook and baker, best known for her Italian cookies and Italian wedding soup. In addition to her culinary skills, Anne was an excellent seamstress, her sewing machine was always ready and waiting to hem, mend or whip up a new outfit for anyone in need. As a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, she was a Eucharistic minister, taught CCD and was part of the team that started the original St. Joseph's Table, a tradition of sharing food with the community during Lent. Anne was also a member of the church choir and Sweet Adeline's singers. You could find Anne behind the counter of the Sandwich Hut for 23 years with her beloved husband Eddie. Anne and Eddie retired to Lakeland Florida for 15 years and returned to Wisconsin in 2020 to be closer to family. Beyond all her wonderful traits and warm smile, Anne was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother through and through. Just prior to her passing, she looked us in the eyes and said, "I cannot die, who will watch over all of you?" Until the very last minutes of her life she was the greatest of all – our mother. She has taught us so much about unconditional love and family. Please continue to watch over us, we will take the love of family you instilled in us and carry it forward.
Anne is survived by, her brother, Charlie (Ann) Taddeo, sister, Olga (Charles) Cereghino, sister-in-law, Angie (Joseph), 4 children,15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Anne and Eddie recently celebrated 69 years of marriage. Anne is preceded in death by her husband Eddie, son Michael, sister Angie, brother Joseph and her parents Antonetta and Peter Taddeo.
