Barbara J. Brand-Griebel, 73 of Elkhorn, WI, died peacefully Tuesday, September 13, 2022.  Barbara was born June 2, 1949 in Sheboygan, WI, the daughter of the late Lester F. and Constance E. (Brandt) Brand.  In her childhood, she was very involved with the Brownies and Girl Scouts.  She attended Sheboygan Public Schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School.  For 41 years, Barbara worked in various Histology (pathology) labs, first as a Histotechnician (HT), then as a Histotechnologist (HTL) retiring in 2011.  Barbara was united in marriage to John T. Griebel aboard the Lady of the Lake on Geneva Lake on May 10, 1995.  She was a member of the ASCP Histotechnician (HT)/Histotechnologist (HTL) Association, Past President of Women's Golf League of Naga-Waukee Golf Club of Waukesha and Evergreen Golf Club of Elkhorn, member of the United States Lakeland Terrier Club and has had a Lakeland Terrier in her life since 1965. She enjoyed deer hunting and any and all water activities, boating, sailing, fishing and swimming. Barbara was an avid card player, especially Schafskopf (Sheepshead) and Cribbage.

Barbara is survived by her cousin-in-law, Mary Lou Spindler of Kiel, WI, cousin-in-law, Donald Cook of Riverview, FL, dear long-time friend, Sandra R. Hofer and family of Elkhorn, WI, special friends: Vicki H. Sheppard and family of Ashville, NC, Susan C. (Jeff) Olson and family of Elkhorn, WI, Jequitta K. Molot of Burlington, WI, Patty a. Twohig of Kiel, WI, Shani (David) Atkins of Janesville, WI,  past and present HT (ASCP) students and families, Lakeland Terriers (USA and Canada), Airedale Terriers, families and two veterinarians, Jeff Korosec DVM and Donna Mueller DVM.  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 17.5 years, John T. Griebel.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held.  Arrangements completed by Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory of Elkhorn, WI.
